West Azerbaijan

As part of the awareness-raising activities of the Conservation of Iranian Wetlands Project (CIWP), a total of 24 awareness events were organized in West Azerbaijan Province during 2025–2026. These events aimed to raise awareness among local communities living in the project’s pilot villages around Lake Urmia in West Azerbaijan Province about the importance of conserving the lake, available conservation measures, and the ecosystem-based approaches promoted by the Conservation of Iranian Wetlands Project.
